Solo & Collaborative Artist
Described by pianist Paul Stewart as “a musician who possesses excellent tone and incisive and exciting technique”, Sarah is the 2nd place winner of the International Bösendorfer Klavierkurs Piano Competition in Austria and a finalist in the Clara Lichtenstein Piano Competition in Montéal.
Sarah has been a featured artist in Canada and the United States, Europe and Japan performing in renowned venues such as La Maison Symphonique, Haydn Hall, The Glenn Gould Studio and as part of an ensemble at Carnegie Hall and Madison Square Garden.
An ARCT graduate of the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto for both Piano Performance and Piano Pedagogy with First Class Honors, Sarah went on to study with Marina Mdivani for her Bachelor of Music degree at McGill University (High Distinction), Gregory Chaverdian for her Artist Diploma at Concordia University and John Byrne for her Master of Music at the Royal College of Music.
During her undergraduate studies, Sarah fell in love with vocal repertoire and collaborative works and made it her goal to learn as much chamber and vocal repertoire as she could. She feels honored to have worked with phenomenal artists such as Olivier Laquerre, Andrea Bocelli, Vladimir Krainev, Grigory Sokolov and Mischa Maisky.
Sarah is currently recording and concertizing in a less conventionally grouped trio of Clarinet, Violin and Piano and their goal is to perform lesser performed works, along with recording new works in commission by modern female composers.
Teaching remains close to Sarah’s heart. She truly believes that teaching is synonymous to learning and understands that a teacher can gain as much knowledge from their students as teachers give to them.
As Sarah’s wish for herself is life long-learning, she feels tremendously grateful to be a student of renowned piano pedagogue Margrit Zimmerman, who always encourages her to continue to explore the rich, complicated and wondrous world of music.
